Domenica, dopo una votazione popolare avvenuta su Facebook (quindi, se non siete ancora fan della mia pagina, cosa state aspettando?!), ma pubblicizzata anche su Twitter (e anche qui, non seguite ancora i miei dolci cinguettii?! Ma allora lo fate apposta!!), il popolo dei miei lettori italiani e stranieri mi ha davvero stupito, scegliendo fra le quattro opzioni da me date il cavallo lento, ovvero la ricetta che ritenevo meno probabile… e invece, i 30 votanti (ok, questo esercizio di democrazia è ancora un po’ zoppicante, ma l’obiettivo è di aumentare il bacino dei votanti ed utilizzare sempre più spesso questo metodo, se vi piace) mi hanno colto alla sprovvista, scegliendo proprio il risotto con toma blu (vaccina) e pere: buongustai i miei lettori, eh?!
Come avrete già avuto modo di intuire leggendo anche solo distrattamente i miei post, quello fra me e il formaggio non è solo un amore passeggero, ma è una relazione stabile, felice e a lungo –anzi, lunghissimo– termine! E, sempre come avrete potuto notare dalla variegata presenza di prodotti caseari, li amo proprio, ma proprio tutti, anche quelli più puzzosi e difficili da amare! La toma blu rientra a pieno titolo fra questo nucleo di formaggi: questa toma, infatti, dall’odore deciso (eufemismo), molto piccante e saporita, si sposa perfettamente con il gusto dolce e delicato della pera: d’altronde, lo dice anche la saggezza popolare che cacio e pere sono un accostamento divino (e, lasciatemelo dire, i formaggi erborinati con le pere sono al di sopra del divino).
La toma blu utilizzata in questa occasione non è la classica toma blu ovina, più solida e compatta (che vedete comunque nella foto qui sopra, a destra, nella sua fulgida bellezza), ma è una toma blu vaccina, molto simile per consistenza (ma più intensa nel gusto) ad un gorgonzola naturale piccante (sempre nella foto, ma sulla sinistra), entrambe souvenir da un breve soggiorno in Langa.
Quindi, una volta trovato il formaggio giusto (che credo sia la parte più difficile) e avendo a disposizione delle dolcissime pere, avrete tutto (o quasi) ciò che vi serve per questa ricetta.

Come avete potuto notare in questi mesi di blog, tendo spesso ad utilizzare (a volte persino in ricette etniche) prodotti della mia regione o, più in generale, prodotti italiani, sia per la loro incredibile varietà e qualità, ma anche per l’amore che provo per loro. Mi auguro che questo amore traspaia da queste pagine e che, grazie a mio blog inglese, spero possa arrivare anche all’estero (sto lavorando ad una sorta di guida agli ingredienti italiani per gli amici stranieri, per venire incontro ad alcune probabili difficoltà).
Dopo questo iniziale preambolo (e vi chiederete ma che c’entra?!), colgo l’occasione per ringraziare Manuela di Manu’s menu per la pioggia di awards che mi ha gentilmente passato… ma, ancor più, vi consiglio vivamente di visitare il suo blog (in inglese): Manuela è un’italiana trapiantata in Australia, e il suo blog di cucina è un fantastico vademecum culinario per gli amanti della VERA cucina italiana (e non di quella che spesso vediamo spacciata per tale in giro per il mondo, ma che tale non è). Il suo è un lavoro rigoroso e curato da cui emerge un grande amore per la nostra cucina, ma con “doverose” concessioni alla cucina australiana ed indiana.
Come già accaduto per gli altri awards ricevuti, il regolamento vuole che io dica 7 cose che forse non sapete di me (e chissà se vi interessano) e che io passi questi premi ad altri 15 blog.
7 cose che forse non sapevate di me (anche se vivevate benissimo senza).
- Ho lavorato per due anni nelle cucine degli asili statali della mia città (sia scuole materne che asili nido), cosa che mi porta ancora adesso a tagliare tutto in formato “bimbo di 2 anni che potrebbe strozzarsi con un pomodoro tagliato troppo grosso”.
- Possiedo ben 3 numeri di telefonia mobile, con 3 operatori diversi ed “installati” su due differenti cellulari (uno normale ed un dual sim)… tutto ciò perché sono fissata con il risparmio telefonico. Ebbene sì, anche se ai più può sembrare strano, ciò mi permette di dimezzare (almeno) la mia spesa telefonica.
- Ho praticato il nuoto per la maggior parte della mia vita, fermandomi solamente prima del passaggio all’agonismo (sarebbe stato un impegno per me inconciliabile con la vita studentesca). Ancora adesso amo alla follia nuotare, e considero l’acqua il mio elemento.
- Fino al 2008, esclusi alcuni brevissimi periodi della mia vita, ho sempre portato i capelli cortissimi (taglio a spazzola).. dal 2008 ad oggi non li ho mai spuntati più di qualche centimetro.
- Mangio praticamente di tutto (e in cucina mi piace sperimentare e/o assaggiare tutto)… l’unica cosa che ancora oggi mi rifiuto di mangiare è la barbabietola, perché mi ha sempre fatto ribrezzo il suo odore terroso. Ma prima o poi la ri-assaggerò.
- Dall’età di 6 anni fino ai 17 ogni estate della mia vita ho trascorso 15 giorni in colonia, lontano dai miei genitori. Ogni anno sono stata in un luogo diverso e, nel mio ultimo “viaggio” ho trascorso 15 giorni in crociera in barca a vela viaggiando dalla Basilicata fino ad alcune isole della Grecia (tra cui Corfù), toccando diversi porti e porticcioli dell’Italia meridionale.
- Amo molto dipingere, ma sono assai più brava a copiare quadri famosi che non ad eseguire composizioni personali… sarà perché raramente ho avuto grandi ispirazioni artistiche!
